7. Then use your pliers to close your jump ring. Make sure it’s closed tightly – you don’t want your strap to fall off your wallet-on-chain!

8. Repeat steps 1-7 on the other side of your Chanel wallet.

9. Finally, take your purse chain and hook the ends onto each side of your wallet using the jump rings you just attached. And there you have it – a new wallet-on-chain to carry around with you!

  1. Thank you so much..I have the same red chanel wallet..and wanted to convert it into WOC but didnt know how to work on it..your post is very helpful in order to do that..I would like to know how did you make the chain?

    1. Thanks for your comments Sanni and Vids!

For the chain, I purchased some chain by the foot (if you’re located in NYC, you can find excellent choices around the 36th St and Broadway, or just search online), and then I found a strip of leather trim that was the same color as my bag. To assemble the chain, just thread your leather ribbon through the links of the chain and then secure at each end by sewing the ends. Hope this helps!

      1. Thanks Yuka. I will check out 36th St and Broadway..I live nearby. After reading uer blog O ordered one from amazon but didn’t like the finish and the red colour doesn’t match my clutch colour..Thanks again
