How to: Conveniently mount your foil and saran wrap for under $3

I used to just keep my foil and saran wrap in a drawer, but after moving to a new apartment with a smaller kitchen, I knew I wanted a more efficient and convenient solution. Sure, there are some decent foil storage rack options to be found online, but you know buying something pre-made is just not my style! If you’re like me and enjoy alternative solutions (read: cheap), here is a simple way to mount your foil and saran wrap to the inside of a cabinet to keep it out of sight but easily accessible. Plus, you’ll be using a lot less material than if you purchased a bulky new organizer rack.

You will need:

Adhesive hooks (two for each roll you hang). I purchased a pack of four for $2.99 at a small home goods store in my nabe.

TIP: Be sure to get the kind made of slightly bendy material so that you can pop them into your saran wrap roll.

That’s basically all you’ll need! No rulers, no pens. That’s the beauty part of this.

Step 1: Find a cabinet to mount your hooks to. It should be at least three inches wider than your foil or saran wrap roll.

Step 2: Wipe the inside of the cabinet to rid it of any dirt or oil.

Step 3: Pop your hooks into the holes on either side of your foil or saran wrap roll.

Step 4: Remove the adhesive backing from your hooks.

Step 5: Making sure that your foil or saran wrap roll is straight and horizontal, adhere your hooks to the inside of your cabinet. Apply pressure.

NOTE: Be sure to leave enough clearance for the shelves in your cabinet. You don’t want your foil to block your door from closing.

And you’re done! Now your foil and saran wrap will always be within reach whenever you need them and tucked away when you don’t. Plus you’re reclaiming storage space that you would not have otherwise used. It’s a DIY win-win :)
