I love pretty much everything about terrariums except for one thing – the annoying way they tend to fog up with condensation! Luckily, I found out that there’s an easy fix to this problem. Read on to find out what it is.

Just like your bathroom mirror fogs up when you shower, your terrarium’s glass will get cloudy when the air inside is humid. So I decided to apply an old trick that maids and dudes use to keep their bathrooms mirrors from fogging – shaving cream! Just apply a little shaving cream to a towel and wipe it onto your glass until it’s clear. It will stay that way. If you don’t have shaving cream, dishwashing liquid works too!

  1. The bulb terrarium can fog up on both the inside and the outside. Obviously, if it fogs up on the inside it can’t be removed by coating it with any substance because the terrarium is FULL of dirt and plants and moisture (which is why it fogs up under specific environmental conditions.

This method would only work to remove/prevent fogging on the outside.

  2. Well how the hell do you suggest we fit a towel inside a christmas ornament?
I couldn’t imagine it working by applying it to the outside…
